Alt Fin Art Edtions, Ltd. | AFAE 001 - 005
The images above were licensed from California artist Russell Spencer and are published exclusively by Alt Fin & Co. All photos are printed on high quality professional Fuji paper at a ratio of 24” x 36”, are signed and numbered by the artist, and are limited to 10 pieces each. This installment showcases the unique symmetry and color of historical surfboard fins and tails through multiple exposed film. To simplify multiple exposure, the artist advanced the film frame from 1, to 2, to 3, etc... exposing one frame multiple times. It started with exposing a frame twice (double exposure) then experimenting with more and more exposures. All of the photos were shot with either Kodak or Fuji 120 film of different speeds. The artist did not use any filters or photoshop to create these images. The concept starts with an idea, a rough is sketched out on paper, then basic math is used to come up with compensation for the exposure. The artists averages two photos per roll of film (15 shots.) The boards were provided by the California Surf Museum in Oceanside, CA. The artist made the cover of the June 2020 issue of the Surfers Journal. Signed and numbered by the artist.
